Residents, whether nationals or foreigners living in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) can travel from July 26 on visa-free to the Republic of Azerbaijan, the UAE daily Khaleej Times reported on Friday.

Citing a tweet by the UAE Embassy to Azerbaijan in the Caucasus country's capital Baku, the report said "anyone with valid residency in the UAE can obtain a tourist visa for one month upon arrival at the airports of Azerbaijan."

In March 2018, UAE's national carrier Etihad Airways launched three direct flights per week between the UAE capital Abu Dhabi and Baku.

The UAE has a total population of approximately 10 million inhabitants of which 80 percent are foreign residents.
