Vice President of Turkey Fuat Oktay on Tuesday vowed here to implement the agreements signed between his country and Sudan.

Oktay on Tuesday held joint talks with his Sudanese counterpart Bakri Hassan Saleh in Khartoum.

"The two countries agreed to reactivate the signed agreements as soon as possible," Oktay told reporters.

He stressed Turkey's readiness to contribute to enhancing Sudan's position in the region through helping it utilize its oil and agricultural resources.

Oktay noted that Turkey has provided Sudan with its experience in fields of education and health, saying that the cooperation between the two sides in the military and defence field is distinguished.

He further stressed the importance for the two countries to work together to increase the volume of trade exchange to reach 10 billion U.S. dollars annually.

During the visit of Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Khartoum in December last year, the two sides signed 12 cooperation agreements.

Oktay arrived in Khartoum on Monday in a three-day visit to Sudan accompanied by a high-level ministerial delegation.
