Jordan said on Monday it was keen on enhancing cooperation with the UN and its agencies, especially with regard to fulfilling the needs of refugees.
The remarks were made by Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi at a meeting with key UN officials and representatives taking part in a UN meeting in Amman with the participation of peace-keeping missions in the Middle East.
The UN officials voiced appreciation for Jordan's role and the fruitful partnership with Jordan in providing needed aid to the refugees.
They also highly valued the assistance extended to the Syrian refugees and commended Jordan's role in attaining peace and stability in the Middle East, according a statement by the Foreign Ministry.
The meeting mainly focused on the regional developments and the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
In this regard, the minister reiterated the call for resolving the conflict on the basis of the two-state solution that leads to the creation of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
UN officials also stressed the continued support to Jordan in various arenas.
Moreover, the two sides discussed efforts to restore stability and security in Iraq after defeating the Islamic State extremist group.
