Two "terrorists" turned themselves in to the Algerian army in the province of Tamanrasset, far southern Algeria in a desert area, on Monday, the defense ministry said.

"Terrorist" Othman al-Touji and "terrorist" Ahmed Malouki who had joined "terrorist" groups in 2017, surrendered to the army today, the ministry said in a statement.

Army forces in this operation seized two Kalashnikov rifles, four munition magazines and 908 bullets of 14.5 millimeter caliber in their possession, it added.
