Ukraine has scrapped 49 bilateral agreements with Russia over the past several years, Ukraine's Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said here on Friday.

While speaking at a press conference, Klimkin said that Kiev has withdrawn from two interstate agreements, 25 intergovernmental agreements, 19 interdepartmental and three interregional treaties with Russia.

Currently, Ukraine is considering a possibility to stop about 50 other agreements with its neighbor, Klimkin said.

Relations between Kiev and Moscow have been deteriorating since early 2014 over their different stances on the developments in Crimea and eastern Ukraine.

Last year, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said that the two countries were the parties to 451 treaties before the crisis.

In September last year, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko signed the legislation on ending on April 1, 2019, the key cooperation agreement between the countries, which has been in place for about two decades -- Treaty on Friendship, Cooperation and Partnership.
