The Tunisian presidential election is officially and finally scheduled on Nov. 10, 2019, Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP) reported on Saturday.

Head of the Independent High Authority for Elections (ISIE) Nabil Baffoun said the presidential election has been scheduled based on a specific constitutional calendar, adding that the date is unlikely to change.

"The ISIE will spare no efforts to ensure the success of the presidential election in best conditions, despite its synchronization with the Mouled feast," confirmed Baffoun.

The Mouled feast is an Islamic religious feast.

According to the ISIE, the legislative elections will officially take place on Oct. 6, 2019 in Tunisian territory. As for Tunisians living abroad, the elections will last between Oct. 4-6, 2019.

The first round of polls of the presidential elections will take place on Nov. 10, 2019 in Tunisia, and Nov. 8-10 for Tunisians living abroad.

If no presidential candidate obtains an absolute majority of votes in the first round, a second round will take place two weeks after the proclamation of the final results of the first round.
