Sweden's furniture giant Ikea Thursday announced a sharp increase in its turnover and profits for the last fiscal year ending August 2007.
Ikea's turnover in Sweden amounted to 30.8 billion kronor (4.74billion U.S. dollars), up 13 percent from the previous financial year.
The company's pre-tax profits reached 2.4 billion kronor (369 million U.S. dollars), a 14-percent rise.
The marked increase in Ikea's turnover and profits has been attributed to the opening of three more chain stores in 2006 and 2007 in the country, the company said. |
