Fuel price hike will not exceed 30% in Indonesia
Last Updated(Beijing Time):2008-05-07 10:13
The Indonesian government will soon raise fuel prices but the price markup is limited to 30 percent, State Minister for National Development Planning Paskah Suzetta said Tuesday.

"We have three scenarios concerning the size of the hike, which is put in a maximum of 30 percent," he was quoted by leading news website Detikcom as saying.

Within two weeks time, an interdepartmental team of Paskah's office, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Social Affairs will come out with the proposed fuel prices, he said.

The upcoming fuel price rises are expected to save 35 trillion rupiah (about 3.8 billion U.S. dollars) in government subsidy, he said.
