Sudan's National Prime Minister Mutaz Mussa on Wednesday announced that the liquidity crisis would be solved and ATMs would be fed with cash as of Saturday, official SUNA news agency reported.

Mussa, who is also Sudan's finance minister, tweeted on his Twitter account that he received assurances from Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan Mohammed Khair al-Zubair that all ATMs would be fed with cash as of coming Saturday, the report said.

Since February, Sudan has been suffering from cash shortage in both local and foreign currencies following decline of the Sudanese pound against the U.S. dollar.

Commercial banks failed to provide cash for their agents and the ATMs ceased operation.

Sudan has been undergoing an economic crisis since the secession of South Sudan in 2011, due to which the country lost an estimated 70 percent of its oil revenues.
