German shares gain 1.49 pct Tuesday
German stocks rose on Tuesday, with the benchmark DAX index up 158.44 points, or 1.49 percent, to close at 10,780.51 points.
Multinational chemical firm Linde won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 4.04 percent. Automotive manufacturer Volkswagen and multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer rose by 3.63 percent and 3.37 percent respectively.
Housing association Vonovia lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 1.34 percent. Deutsche post down by 0.94 percent. European health care company Fresenius SE down by 0.55 percent.
Automotive manufacturer Daimler was the most-traded share with a turnover of 313.9 million euros (357.18 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
