German shares close up 0.2 pct Wednesday

German stocks rose on Wednesday, with the benchmark DAX index up 21.23 points, or 0.20 percent, to end at 10,580.19 points.

Energy group E.ON won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 3.16 percent. Deutsche Bank and European health care company Fresenius SE rose by 2.61 percent and 1.89 percent respectively.

Automotive manufacturer Volkswagen lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 1.91 percent. Daimler and BMW went down by 1.44 percent and 1.36 percent respectively.

Manufacturing and electronics company Siemens was the most-traded share with a turnover of 211.7 million euros (241.1 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
