Cambodia's famed Angkor Archeological Park received 271,050 foreign visitors in January 2019, down 8 percent compared to the same period last year, said a statement on Friday.

The ancient park earned gross revenue of nearly 12.4 million U.S. dollars from ticket sales in January this year, also down 8.1 percent over the same period last year, said the state-owned Angkor Enterprise's statement.

The entrance fee to the park is 37 U.S. dollars for a one-day visit, 62 dollars for a three-day pass, and 72 dollars for a week-long pass.

In the entirety of 2018, the park attracted a total of 2.59 million international tourists, earning 116 million U.S. dollars in revenue from ticket sales.

China, South Korea, and the United States were the biggest sources of foreign tourists to the park last year.

Located in northwest Cambodia's Siem Reap province, the Angkor Archeological Park, inscribed on the World Heritage List of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 1992, is the kingdom's most popular tourist destination.
