Air traffic over Ukraine grew 18.5 percent in 2018 over an increase of transit flights, Ukraerorukh, the country's air traffic regulator, was quoted Wednesday by local media as saying in its annual report.

Transit flights through Ukraine increased 23 percent last year over 2017, while international flights from and to Ukraine and domestic flights inside the country rose 16.2 percent and 11.8 percent respectively, according to the regulator's report.

Ukraerorukh provided air navigation services for 300,853 flights in 2018, including 194,199 flights of foreign airlines, it said.

Ukraine's air navigation industry, which had been severely hit by the armed conflicts in its eastern part, resumed growth in 2017 after three consecutive years of decline.
