U.S. chemical giant DuPont buys Israeli desalination firm
U.S. chemical giant DuPont has acquired the Israeli company Desalitech which has developed an efficient and inexpensive desalination system, the two companies announced Wednesday.
Financial details of the deal have not been divulged.
According to Desalitech, the system reduces energy consumption by 35 percent and is 20 percent cheaper than existing ones.
The Israeli system is based on reverse osmosis technology, the passage of water through a filter that captures the purified water on one side and allows the passage of pure water to the other.
