Ten Palestinians were killed and 40 wounded in an Israeli airstrike on a public park in Shatti (Beach) refugee camp in western Gaza City, medics said.

Ashraf al-Qedra, spokesman of health ministry in Gaza, told reporters that ten were killed, most of them were children, and 40 wounded in the Israeli airstrike on the public park.

Meanwhile, witnesses and security officials said that another airstrike targeted the outpatient clinics that belong to Shifa Hospital in the city, adding that several people were injured.

However, an Israeli army spokesman said in a statement that the Israeli war planes didn't strike any outpatients clinics in Gaza city, adding that it was an explosion of a rocket that failed to be fired into Israel.

Earlier on Monday, the first day of the Muslims Eid al-Fitr holiday, two more Palestinians were killed and ten injured in two separate tanks shelling on eastern Jabalia town on northern Gaza Strip.

Rescue workers also said that they pulled out the corps of 11 Palestinians from under the rubble, who were killed during the fighting three days ago east of Khuza'a town east of the southern Gaza Strip city of Khan Younis.

Al-Qedra said that since the beginning of the large-scale Israeli operation on the Gaza Strip that started in July 8, the death toll reached 1,060 people and 6,300 wounded.

Earlier on Monday, a senior official in Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas Fatah Party said that it was agreed that Abbas will chair a high-ranking delegation that will head to Egypt for talks on a ceasefire in Gaza.
