Aston Martin Lagonda, producer of some of the world's most expensive cars, started the recall of 20 vehicles on the Chinese mainland due to seat slide rail defects on Friday.

The affected models are the DB9 and Vanquish, manufactured between Nov. 8, 2012 and April 15, 2015, said the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.

The rails may press on a battery power cable, causing a short circuit, the government agency said on its website.

Owners of the affected vehicles will be notified and their cars repaired without charge, according to the statement.
