Swiss unemployment rate unchanged at 3.2 pct in October: SECO

The Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) said Tuesday that the country's unemployment rate stood at a stable 3.2 percent in October this year, with 144,531 people registered as jobless in the confederation.

This figure represented 1,856 more individuals who were documented as out of work by authorities last month compared to September's figures.

According to the latest SECO data, youth unemployment (15 to 24 years) decreased by 4.7 percent, with almost 19,100 young adults looking for a job in October.

The number of job seekers signed up to work in Switzerland rose by 3,944 people from September to October, reaching 207,512 individuals by the end of October.

The state agency also revealed that the number of listed job opportunities in Switzerland dropped by 121 in October to reach 10,910.
