Schalke have signed offensive midfielder Amine Harit from French outfit Nantes, the "Royal Blues" announced in an official statement on Monday.

After a lot of back and forth, Schalke were able to complete the transfer of Amine Harit, who has penned a four-year deal until June 2021. Both clubs agreed to keep silence over further contract details.

"Amine is technically gifted player, who is a fast dribbler and can also help out in the defense. He can make the difference. We are glad that we were able to sign him," Schalke head coach Domenico Tedesco said.

Schalke's new arrival started his senior career at Nantes where he provided one goal in 30 appearances for the first team in August 2016. Harit is also part of France's Under-20 squad and scored one goal in nine caps.

"This transfer is a big step in my career. I am sure that at such a big club I can develop into the player I want to be," Harit, who received jersey number 25, said.

Schalke encounter runner-up Leipzig for their season opener on August 19.
