Hungarian industrial production up 5.4 pct in September

Hungary's industrial output rose 5.4 percent year on year in September, official data revealed on Monday.

Based on working-day adjusted data, the production grew by 8.1 percent, Hungary's central statistical office KSH said in a statement.

Industrial output went up by 5.2 percent year on year in the first nine months of 2017, according to KSH.

On a month-to-month basis, industrial output in September was 0.7 percent lower than the previous month, KSH said.

September's industrial export sales increased by 5.9 percent year on year. Industrial domestic sales grew by 6.3 percent.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) had revised upwards its outlook for Hungary's gross domestic product (GDP) growth.

For 2017, IMF increased its forecast by 0.3 percentage point to 3.2 percent, in the November issue of its regional economic outlook report for Europe. For 2018, it changed its forecast from 3.0 percent to 3.4 percent, and for 2019, from 2.6 percent to 2.8 percent.
