The Ministry of Finance announced on Friday cuts in import tariffs on some consumer products starting from December.

The reduction of import tariffs will affect 187 tariff codes, including on food, health supplements, pharmaceuticals, garments and recreational products, and the average rate will drop to 7.7 percent from 17.3 percent, according to the ministry.

Let's take a look at some of the products that will enjoy reduced tariffs.

Seafood

The import tariffs for frozen Atlantic salmon and huchen will be reduced from 10 percent to 5 percent. Tariffs for live,fresh or chilled rock shrimp and lobsters will be cut from 15 percent to 5 percent.

Cheese

Tariffs for imported grinded, powdered or processed cheese will be lowered from 12 percent to 8 percent.

Nuts

Tariffs for imported dry coconuts will be reduced from 12 percent to 7 percent. Tariffs for fresh or dry unpeeled Brazil nuts will decrease from 10 percent to 7 percent. Tariffs for fresh or dry unpeeled cashew will be cut from 20 percent to 7 percent.

Infant formula

The tariffs for milk protein hydrolysed formula, hyamino acid formula, lactose-free special infant formula will be cut from 20 percent to zero.

Whisky

The tariffs for Whisky will decrease from 10 percent to 5 percent.

Cosmetics

The tariffs for lip and eye make-up preparations will be reduced from 10 percent to 5 percent. Tariffs for nail cosmetics will be down from 15 percent to 5 percent. Tariffs for shampoo will be cut from 6.5 percent to 2 percent.

Toothbrushes

Tariffs for toothbrushes will fall from 25 percent to 8 percent.

Clothes

The tariffs for imported wool knitted or crocheted coats and windjacked will be cut from 25 percent to 10 percent. The tariffs for cashmere knitted or crocheted pullover will be reduced from 14 percent to 5 percent.

Intelligent toilet seats

The tariffs for imported electronic intelligent toilet seats will be reduced from 32 percent to 10 percent.

Disposable diapers

The tariffs for disposable diapers will be cut from 7.5 percent to zero.
