Chinese player Zheng Saisai beat her compatriot and No. 4 seed Wang Yafan with 5-7, 6-2, 6-1 on Sunday to win Zhengzhou Women's Tennis Open title.

22-year-old Zheng led 5-2 but was reversed by Wang Yafan in first set, and she took the second set 6-2 to pull level before another comfortable set secured the title.

"When I got 5-2 in the first set, I thought too much to focus on the match. After the loss, my coach told me that I can win and I should believe myself. He tried his best to encourage me and support me, and I did it," Zheng said.

Ranking 139th in WTA table, Zheng had meniscus operation after U.S. Open, and this was her first WTA match after she recovered.

"I take part in three games to prepare for Zhengzhou Open, and I want to win more scores," Zheng said.

Zheng can get 160 scores with Zhengzhou's champion, which is her second 125k title, following her success in Dalian in 2015.

Zheng will move up 15 places, to No. 124 in Monday's update, and Wang Yafan will rise to a career-high rank of No. 86.

Wang Yafan and Duan Yingying won the doubles title after defeating Belgian Yanina Wickmayer and Naomi Broady from Britain with 7-6, 6-3.

Zhengzhou Women's Tennis Open was the first match in Asia of 2018 WTA 125k.
