Hub, Aug. 16 (China Economic Net) -- At 20:00 on August 14, the China Power - PAK Hub 2×660MW Coal-fired Power Plants located in Balochistan completed a two-unit trail run within 168 hours and other check tests required by the Pakistani Government, and will soon go into commercial operation officially, presenting a gift to the Independence Day of Pakistan.

 

The power station is an important China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project invested by China Power International Development Limited of State Power Investment Corporation Limited.

 

In accordance with the provisions of the Power Purchase Agreement executed with Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) of Pakistan, ten important high-standard tests need to be completed for the China Power - PAK Hub Project, including load disturbance test, overspeed test, step test, full load rejection test, 168-hour full-plant reliability test and heat consumption test before the commercial operation. The requirements for these tests are extremely strict, especially the “full load rejection test” that requires not only guaranteeing safe shutdown and boiler stop of the units but also ignition, impulse starting and grid connection within the prescribed time as well as reaching full load at a certain rising rate, which have extremely high requirements for the load fluctuation and all curve numbers during the course.

 

In the witness of representatives of Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) and National Transmission & Dispatch Company (NTDC) of Pakistan as well as the third-party independent engineers, all tests were completed for the two sets of China Power - PAK Hub Coal-fired Power Plants in 18 days, from official test starting on July 28 to completion on August 14, largely breaking the fastest records of energy projects of the same kind in Pakistan. Now, all of the test results have been submitted to CPPA for the Government's approval and announcement on official commercial operation of this project.

August 14 is also the Independence Day of Pakistan. As a representative CPEC priority project, the China Power - PAK Hub Project completed all preparation works for commercial operation on that day, presenting a big gift for the 72nd Anniversary of Pakistan’s independence.
