ISLAMABAD, Oct. 13 (Gwadar Pro) – All international conspiracies against China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) have failed, said Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed.

Sheikh Rashid Ahmed told Gwadar Pro, Pakistan and China's friendship is unbreakable and no conspiracy can create any misunderstanding.

"Our friendship is higher than Himalayas. There have been numerous conspiracies against CPEC in the recent years but we (Pakistan and China) have shown unity. We will continue this unity in the times to come," he said.

The minister said work on all the CPEC projects is going on at fast speed and all the projects will be completed in time.

Ahmed said that Pakistan Railways could not make progress until the completion of Main Line (ML-1) and the government was going to spend $ 6.8 billion on railways under the CPEC.

He said the coronavirus had not affected the CPEC and the ML-1 project was continuing according to the schedule.

Ahmed said that ML-1 project was a game changer for Pakistan Railways and indispensable for strengthening country’s economy.

Besides ML-1, Pakistan Railways was also putting efforts for development of Peshawar-Jalalabad and Quetta-Kandahar rail network, he added.
