Last Updated(Beijing Time):2012-05-04 09:21

Dutch midfielder Arjen Robben extended his current contract with the Bavarians until June 2015, Bayern Munich announced on Thursday.

After long back and forth, Dutch international Arjen Robben renewed his running contract with German record champions and Champions League finalists Bayern until June 2015.

"I have always said that I feel very, very good in Munich and at FC Bayern. For this reason I extended my contract ahead of schedule," Robben said.

The 28-year-old joined Bayern in 2009 since then he made 61 matches to score 39 goals to become a key player of the team owing to important goals.

"We are happy that we have extended the contract from Arjen prematurely until 2015. Arjen is for Bayern a very important player and also a guarantor for a more successful future of the club," Bayern chairman Karl Heinz Rummenigge said.

Robben is since 2003 part of the Dutch international team making 54 official matches and 17 goals. Due to his speed, his technique and his dangerousness in front of the goal he is said to be one of the best outside midfielder in the world.
