Salif Sane transfers from French side Nancy to sign a four-year contract with Hannover until 2017, the German club said on its official homepage on Thursday.

"Salif Sane is a young, ambitious player with great development potential. We are glad to sign such a ball wining defender for our defence on long term," Hannover's director of sport Dirk Dufner said on the clubs homepage.

The 22-year-old defender is the first new arrival for the upcoming Bundesliga campaign 2013-2014.

"Our aim is to strengthen our defence for the upcoming season. Salif Sane convinced in a strong European league," Hannover coach Mirko Slomka stated.

The new arrival commented his transfer as follows: "The German Bundesliga is one of the strongest leagues in the world. My goal is to assert myself here. Hannover acquired a great reputation internationally."
