Bundesliga side Frankfurt have signed Paraguayan international Nelson Valdez for two years, the "Eagles" confirmed in an official statement on Tuesday.

The 30-year-old striker joins the "Eagles" from al-Jazira Club by putting pen to paper on a deal until June 2016. However, both sides agreed to keep silence over further contract details.

"With Nelson Valdez we signed a player for Eintracht Frankfurt, who brings a lot of experience. Besides that he has already worked successfully with our coach Thomas Schaaf. We are looking forward to this cooperation," Frankfurt sporting director Bruno Hubner said.

Coach Thomas Schaaf and Nelson Valdez know each other from their spell at Werder Bremen, where they won the German domestic double in the season 2003/2004. The new arrival knows the Bundesliga well, as he played four years for Bremen and four years for Dortmund.

The striker scored overall 40 goals in 220 Bundesliga appearances. However, after his time in the Bundesliga he never made the breakthrough in other leagues. Valdez scored 12 goals in 67 caps for Paraguay.

The "Eagles" completed the last Bundesliga season on 13th position of the standings.
