Last Updated(Beijing Time):2012-11-18 14:29

The 2012 Airshow China has opened to the public for the second day. Tens of thousands of spectators from across the country have flocked to see the daring aerobatic performances and aviation displays. The Air Force of the Peoples Liberation Army, the Russian Knights Aerobatic Team and the European Breitling Aerobatic teams are all taking part in the event.

Only the bravest and the best deserve a corner of the sky. This visual feast demands not only a high level of training and bravery, but also great skill. The J-10 jet fighter pilots performing these elaborate formations are from the Bayi Aerobatic Team of the Peoples Liberation Armys Airforce, and theyve been impressing the spectators.

Huang Yi, Guangzhou Viewer, said, It looks very dangerous. Two of the aircraft flew very close together. But then they flew off in opposite directions. They must have trained long and hard to be so good.

Yin Hang, Airshow China, Zhuhai, said, Amid cheers and surprises, right now flying above the sky is the Breitling Wingwalker Team, they will perform a series of maneuvers and aerobatic performances for us.

The two fight jets are displaying a breathtakingly fast sequence of loops, rolls and turns, with female wingwalkers waving and performing handstands against strong winds.

Then the wingwalkers get back into the cockpit, with the aircraft still flying.

Ms. Hu, Guangzhou Viewer, said, The aerobatic performances are amazing. Ive never seen jet fighters or planes flying at such close quarters. But I was so excited that I cant even find my parents. There are too many people here.

Wu Jianyang, Zhongshan Viewer, said, I saw one girl standing on top of an aircraft. I was starting to doubt whether its a real person. Thats so cool.

Away from the exciting atmosphere on the tarmac, viewers inside the exhibition hall are busy catching a glimpse of some of the military hardware on display.

Chen Ke, Zhuhai Viewer, said, "Until I saw this, i didnt realize Chinas military technology was so advanced. From the missiles to the drones, tremendous changes have taken place since the 1960s."

The airshow is also a platform for China to showcase its military defense power. In this year's airshow, the WJ-600 helicopter, FD-2000 surface to air missile, and two types of attack helicopters have made their debuts to the public.
