I. Introduction
In Northwestern territory of the People's Republic of China is Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, a vast territory with an area of 1.66 million square kilometers, covering one-sixth of total land area. It is a hinterland which is the most distant from the sea in the world. It is a provincial-level administrative region with the largest area in China, equivalent to the sum of Shaanxi, Gansu, Ningxia and Qinghai in terms of area, and is as large as three France. From northeast to southwest, it is bounded by 8 countries such as Mongolia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India, and is a province with the longest borderline in China, namely more than 5600 km.
