A total of 165 contracts for major projects were signed at the 2013 China-Eurasia Expo held in Urumqi, capital of the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.

The contracts were worth 213 billion yuan ($35 billion), about 3 percent higher than the previous year. The agreements were sealed between 14 cities in Xinjiang, and State-owned and private enterprises throughout China.

The deals cover 16 sectors, mainly in clean energy , agriculture, steel, textile, tourism, services and manufacturing.

The Xinjiang regional government said the region will be capable of exporting high-end products to Central Asian and Europe an markets, and supplying more clean energy-related products to meet domestic demand over the next decade.

To further cut emissions caused by heavy polluting projects from the oil and coal industries, the regional government also stressed that manufacturing and agriculture sectors will become the region's next market growth points to improve its export capabilities.
