| Top-ranked Chinese Zhang Yining defeated Kim Hyang Mi of DPR Korea 11-8, 11-7, 11-2 and 11-2 to take the women's table tennis singles gold medal at the Athens Olympic Games here Sunday.
Zhang's victory awarded China its 100th gold medal in the Summer Olympic Games after China made its debut in the 1984 Los Angeles Games.
Li Jia Wei of Singapore won the bronze medal. |
