Georgia's statistical office GeoStat reported Tuesday that the country's inflation rate in December was 2 percent.
The South Caucasus country's inflation hit a decade-high of 14.3 percent in May, but it went down to 1.9 percent in November due to lowering costs of transportation, fuel and food.
The National Bank of Georgia, the country's central bank, has predicted that inflation would remain low in the first half of 2012 before heading toward a "moderate increase" from the summer onward.
Georgia ended 2010 with a decade-high year-on-year inflation rate of 11.2 percent. |
