Turkey's export volume hit a new high in 2012, Turkish Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan said Wednesday.
The country's exports rose by 12.6 percent to hit 151.9 billion U.S. dollars in 2012 compared with the previous year, the Turkish minister said in the capital Ankara.
The data released by the Turkish Exporters' Assembly show that Turkey gained 11.8 million dollars in exports in December 2012.
Germany, Iraq and Britain ranked as the top importing countries from Turkey in 2012.
Caglayan said that current account deficit, which was 65 billion dollars in the first 10 months of 2011, dropped to 41 billion dollars compared to the same period of 2012.
The amount of direct foreign investments made in Turkey in the first 10 months of 2012 reached up to 10.6 billion dollars, added Caglayan.
