Spain consumer confidence decreases in December
Spanish consumer confidence fell in December after slight improvements in the previous four months, according to data published this Thursday by the Sociological Research Centre (CIS).
The consumer confidence index stood at 44.3 points, 0.7 percent lower than November's rating and down 26 points compared with the same month a year ago.
The CIS indicator ranges between 0 and 200 points with rating of over 100 points taken as being a positive and optimistic perception of the economic situation, while ratings below 100 indicates a negative or pessimistic opinion.
The indicator of consumer confidence had dropped to an all-time low in July, but had improved slightly in the following four months prior to December's fall.
