Developing countries deserve more say in the decision-making process and reform of the international financial system, World Bank Vice President James Adams said.
As a specialist in East Asia and Pacific affairs, Adams says developing countries have never been more vital to the overall functioning of the world economy.
Adams said, "along with increased economic participation should be larger involvement in setting the rules for the international economic system."
Adams is in Beijing for the three-day 10th China Development Forum, which began Saturday.
Adams stressed the voices of poor countries should be heard on a regular basis and their suggestions integrated into the policy-making process.
Adams also noted China, the world's biggest developing country, is one of the few large economies still growing despite the downturn.
He says China's swift and forceful measures have set a good example.Adams made his comments in an exclusively to Xinhua on Sunday.
