NBC wins ratings race on election night |

NBC News has performed better than other U.S. broadcasters in its streaming of Presidential elections, finishing as the top telecaster which attracted most primetime television viewers when the polling unfolded Tuesday night, according to preliminary returns released by Nielsen.
NBC averaged a 4.6 rating among adults 18-49, which is a key demographic, for an estimated 12.56 million viewers to claim the victory. However, it registered a 2 percent decease from the 2008 election, when NBC had 12.6 million viewers.
ABC trailed in second place with an average rating of 3.8 among 11.1 million viewers. It suffered the biggest hit among major networks, a 18 percent slide from four years ago.
CBS stood in No. 3 with 2.7 rating and 8.4 million viewers. Fox ranked in No. 4, averaging 2.0 rating and 5 million audience. |
