Last Updated(Beijing Time):2006-07-27 14:06
Russian President Vladimir Putinwill visit Angola in September this year, visiting Russian Minister of Natural Resources Lury Trutneu Petrovich said on Wednesday.

This announcement came after the minister attended a meeting held in South Africa, at which South African Foreign Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma said Putin is scheduled to visit South Africa on September 4-6 to pay the first visit by a Russian head of state to the rainbow nation.

At a joint news conference after Petrovich's meeting with Angolan Planning Minister Ana Dias Lourenco, Petrovich told the journalists that Putin's visit will boost existing bilateral cooperation.

The two ministers reviewed the bilateral cooperation in law and financial fields and discussed the signing of an accord aimed to deepen their relations that started in 1975, when Russia was Soviet Union.

Lourenco considered as positive the Angola-Russia cooperation that gained momentum with the visit of Angolan President Jose Eduardo dos Santos to Russia in 1998.
