Chinese children showcase martial arts in Nepal |

A special show of Chinese martial arts by children artists from Nanjing in east China's Jiangsu Province, was held here Tuesday.
The event was organized by China Cultural Center in Nepal and Nanjing Municipal Bureau of Culture, Broadcasting, TV, Press and Publication.
The event attended by around 300 people including school students, teachers and people from various walks of life, featured over a dozen performances including hand lion dance, apparatus performance on oriental zen, Shaolin hard qigong, kungfu, Chinese boxing, and magic show, among others.
Addressing the function, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Yu Hong said that such events hold a great significance to enhance people-to-people relations between Nepal and China.
"Wushu is an integral component of China and I believe this show will help Nepali children understand more about Chinese art and culture. This show is an important part of cultural exchanges," Yu said.
On the occasion, President of Nepal Olympic Committee Jivan Ram Shrestha said that Chinese martial art is very popular in Nepal, and the show can bring the children of the two countries together. He also took the occasion to appreciate China's assistance in development of Nepal's sports sector.
The performances received huge appreciation and applause from the Nepali audiences. Nepali school students also showcased various cultural dances. |
