China's Huawei released the company's latest generation of smartphone MATE-7 in Kuala Lumpur Thursday, marking the debut of world popular smartphone in the country.
Xu Xiao, head of Huawei's marketing department, said, MATE-7 with fingerprint identification system is China's first domestic smartphone that sells at a price over 3,000 yuan. Being acknowledged in global market, MATE-7 has become a much-sought-after phone.
Xu said Huawei adopted a marketing strategy in Malaysia by which, consumers can buy MATE-7 directly from Huawei's chain stores instead of having to order online.
Two versions of MATE-7 are on sale in the Malaysian market: the standard version with 2GB internal storage at 1,799 ringgit (about 3,600 yuan), and advanced version with 3GB internal storage at 1,999 ringgit (about 4,000 yuan).
