Brazil plans to sell corn to China, the world's largest food consumer, as officials from the Brazilian Agriculture Minister will be visiting Beijing this week, Xinhua News Agency reported.

Brazilian Agriculture Minister Antonio Andrade told Xinhua that he expects China to lift its ban on imports of Brazilian beef and boost purchases of the South American country's chicken, pork and corn.

Brazil currently is China's second-largest supplier of soybeans, only next to the United States. So far, China has never bought any Brazilian corn.

Andrade said Brazil wants to enhance trade ties as well as attract more Chinese investments in Brazilian ports and infrastructure projects.
