Firms listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) saw steady growth in revenue and net profit in the first three quarters of this year, the bourse said Thursday.

Business revenue of the 1,535 firms totaled about 26.6 trillion yuan (about 3.78 trillion U.S. dollars) during the January-September period, up about 9.12 percent year on year.

Their total net profits grew 8.06 percent to 2.55 trillion yuan during the period.

About 70 percent reported revenue growth, while nearly 90 percent attained a net profit, SSE data showed.
