LAHORE, Oct 18 (Gwadar Pro) – The Pakistani Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry on Sunday afternoon said that the private sector was also being invited to come forward and make investments in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects.

Speaking to journalists here, the minister mentioned that CPEC was open to benefit the local and foreign investors.

“The private sector is being encouraged to invest in CPEC projects. This will benefit them (the investors),” he maintained.

He asserted that complete transparency was being carried out in the CPEC projects.

Chaudhry remarked that the Pakistan government always played an effective and positive role in regional peace.

The minister pointed that the construction sector attracted Pakistani Rs 600 billion investments during the last one year, adding the textile units in Faisalabad succeeded to get orders for even the next two years in advance.

In the agriculture sector, he noted, farmers had earned an additional income of Rs 1100 billion due to bumper crops of wheat, rice and mangoes.

The minister stated that the government launched three major initiatives in social and health sectors including Sehat Insaf (health justice) Card, enabling a family to get free-of-cost health facilities worth up to Rs 750,000.
