BEIJING, Feb 15 (China Economic Net) - The Pakistan Overseas Chinese Association (LOCA) held a celebration with the theme of "Gathering Overseas Chinese to Cheer for Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games" on Sunday. On the occasion, Ms Pang Chunxue, Minister-Counselor of Chinese Embassy in Pakistan congratulated the huge success of the opening ceremony of the Olympic Winter Games and wished the Chinese in Pakistan a happy Lantern Festival in advance.

 

She further highlighted that the past year marked the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan. The friendship between China and Pakistan is profound, and the friendly relationship between China and Pakistan cannot be separated from the strong support and help of overseas Chinese.

 

 

 

 

Pakistani President Arif Alvi greatly appreciated the efforts China has made in preparation for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games inaugurated on Feb 4. Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan came to China to attend the opening ceremony and spoke highly of it. During his China trip, the PM witnessed a series of fruitful cooperation between China and Pakistan. The success of the opening ceremony has generated strong repercussions in Pakistan. Talat Shabbir, Director of China Pakistan Study Centre, I.S.S.I emphasized that the opening ceremony was extremely marvelous, which showed China’s success and hoped that China and Pakistan would strengthen cooperation in various fields.

 

La Jielian, President of LOCA, wished the Olympic Winter Games a complete success, excellent achievements for the athletes and greater prosperity for China. He also maintained that the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games have demonstrated China’s development and the achievements made by the Chinese people in all aspects. The opening ceremony, which has attracted worldwide attention, has been praised all over the world and is the pride of the Chinese nation. Overseas Chinese in Pakistan are totally proud and always follow the latest progress. 

 

Ma Bin, Principal of China-Pak Educational Cultural Institute (CPECI) said that as the only double Olympic city in the world, Beijing perfectly integrates Chinese culture and modern science and technology with the opening ceremony of the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games. The opening ceremony demonstrated China’s cultural self-confidence. H.E. Prime Minister Imran Khan was invited to attend the opening ceremony, which further strengthened the profound friendship between both countries. Ma Bin added that, “as Chinese educators, it is our wish to make positive contributions to the education, economy and culture of China and Pakistan. We are committed to spreading Chinese culture and promoting exchanges between the two countries.”

 

 

Overseas Chinese in Pakistan performed Chinese songs and dances, nunchakus and other wonderful performances to send good wishes to the audience of China and Pakistan.
