China-IIRMR Digital Poster Competition engages Pakistani Youth in Olympics 2022

LAHORE, Feb 20 (Gwadar Pro)-In connection with Beijing Winter Olympics 2022, Chinese Embassy in Pakistan Political Section Head Ms. Bao Zhong termed the “Digital Poster Competition” a healthy exercise that helped engage Pakistani youth understand the Chinese spirit and significance of the Beijing Winter Olympics.
She expressed these views on the online conclusion ceremony of the Digital Poster Competition. Winners were given cash awards and exclusive gifts.
She lauded the efforts of the Institute of International Relations and Media Research (IIRMR) and Chinese Consulate Lahore for successfully conducting the Digital Poster Competition. She said that with developed and developing countries grappling to meet the climate targets and the sustainable development goals amidst the perilous impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, China seized an opportunity to inspire the world by conducting Beijing Winter Olympics 2022 that promoted unity, peace, and shared prosperity. She gave a big shout-out to winners and all participants. She hoped that IIRMR would continue to conduct such productive events for fostering China-Pakistan friendliness.
Acting Chinese Consul General Lahore Peng Zhengwu said that the Chinese Consulate Lahore is diversifying cooperation with the Institute of International Relations and Media Research (IIRMR) to find new avenues of Pak-China relations.
Praising Digital Poster Competition held under the auspices of IIRMR, Chinese Consulate Lahore and China Media Group (CMG) Urdu Service said “Our cooperation and partnership with IIRMR is going a long way to achieve Sino-Pak ambitions rooted in the sense of Together for a Shared Future."
He wished the best of luck to all winners and applauded their ingenuity and digital mastery to pitch their insight on Beijing Winter Olympics because the Beijing Winter Olympic Games has created a new chapter in the history of international sports, and undoubtedly, "the Games made greater contributions to the Olympic movement and the building of a community with a shared future for mankind," he said.
IIRMR chairman Muhammad Mehdi and President Yasir Habib Khan praised the participants of the competition saying it is heartening to know that digital inventiveness among youth on the theme of Together for a Shared Future manifested how they feel about China and the Winter Olympics 2022.
"Sport is a universal language. It neither should be subject to any discrimination nor should be hostage to politicization,” they added.
Digby Wren, Visiting International Relations Scholar in Deakin University, Melbourne Australia and Sichuan Normal University, Chengdu, China gave a thumb-up to IIRMR for making things happen.
