BEIJING, July 7 (Gwadar Pro)- A large number of Pakistani and Muslim communities in China are celebrating Eid-ul-Adha with immense zeal and enthusiasm. The biggest gathering of Pakistanis started with Eid prayer in the Embassy Mosque at the Pakistan Embassy in Beijing.

Eid-ul-Adha is a three-day long festival that starts with Eid prayers and welcomes with "Eid Mubarak", signifying "Blessed Eid".

It is also called the greater Eid, which follows the accomplishment of the annual Hajj pilgrimage, at the time of Qurbani (sacrifice).  In Muslim countries, Eid is a national holiday where all businesses and offices are closed, so friends and family can enjoy the celebration together.

?Pakistan's ambassador to China, Moin ul Haque offered Eid prayer at Pakistan Embassy Beijing Mosque and expressed his greeting to all Pakistanis living in China.

?"On behalf of my colleagues at the Embassy and on myself, I wish to greet members of the Pakistani community Eid Mubarak. I also would like to extend my good wishes and Eid greetings to our Chinese Muslim brothers and sisters", he stated.

?"We, at the Pakistan Embassy Beijing, wish everyone a very happy Eid-ul-Adha. On this auspicious occasion we sincerely convey our best wishes and prayers for your health, happiness, success and prosperity.” Moin further said.

Mr. Amjad Zarin, who is a Pakistani scholar and associated with an international humanitarian organization in Beijing, told CEN that though Eid here can't be the way he celebrates it with family and friends at home, still, Amjad tried his best to celebrate it fully with colleagues and community members in China.

"Luckily, this year the festival is being celebrated on Sunday and I can have a full day off from work to enjoy it with friends. On the first day of Eid-ul-Adha, after offering the prayer, I usually go to sacrifice an animal together with friends, and this year I plan to sacrifice a sheep, as it's actually the festival of sacrifice", he added.

It is to be noted that the day of Eid ul Adha falls on the tenth day in the twelfth month of the Islamic lunar calendar.
