China's National Computer Virus Emergency Response Center (CVERC) and cybersecurity company 360 respectively released investigation reports on the attacks on Northwestern Polytechnical University from the US National Security Agency (NSA), showing that the case is just one of tens of thousands of cyberattacks launched by the NSA's Office of Tailored Access Operation - a cyberwarfare intelligence-gathering unit - on targets in China in recent years. The malicious attacks pose a serious danger to China's national security and citizens' personal information security, especially commercial and technical secrets and intellectual property rights.
