SHANGHAI, Nov. 10 (China Economic Net) - China's exploration of a green economy continues to heat up, making "green" a key theme throughout the ongoing 5th China International Import Expo (CIIE).

A large amount of products and contracts reflecting the concepts of green economy, environmental protection and sustainable development were launched at the 2022 CIIE, attracting many overseas exhibitors - like thyssenkrupp, Agilent, Siemens Energy and so on - to offer green innovative technologies and zero-carbon solutions.

At the 5th CIIE, thyssenkrupp makes its debut to demonstrate its green technologies across various businesses. At the Energy, Low-Carbon & Environmental Protection Zone, its technical innovation and applications along the carbon neutrality value chain of wind power, green hydrogen, steel, chemicals, cement, and transportation impressed a bunch of visitors.

On top of showing its state-of-the-art technology and solutions, thyssenkrupp has signed agreements with some industrial leaders, including SINOPEC, China Datang, and Befar Group, for comprehensive cooperation and communication on energy, industry, and chemicals.

Dr. Yan GAO, CEO of thyssenkrupp Greater China, told China Economic Net, "In a time of dynamic climate change, it's very important to realize green transformation of energy and industries. thyssenkrupp is happy to provide Chinese customers with green solutions for decarbonization and sustainable development in many areas."

Likewise, Victor Chan, Agilent Global Vice President, General Manager of Agilent Greater China, told CEN reporter that, "We are honored to participate in CIIE for the fourth time. We hope to create new sparks with all relevant parties here."

During the 5th CIIE, Agilent signed cooperation agreements with Sinopharm Group, Qilu Pharmaceutical and other enterprises. Yang Ting, Agilent Assistant Vice President, General Manager of Agilent Greater China Laboratory Solutions Sales, noted that to practice the concept of sustainability, Agilent has announced that it will achieve net zero emissions of greenhouse gases by 2050. In terms of sustainable development, Agilent is also working with several Chinese institutes and enterprises to look into key issues of the practical application of clean energy, including hydrogen energy, lithium electricity, photovoltaic polysilicon, etc.

Also, Yao Zhenguo, Senior Vice President, Siemens Energy, pinpointed that technological innovation and international cooperation are top elements of the energy transition. "Siemens Energy highly recognizes China's low-carbon development strategy. We'd like to continue to work with relevant parties to build a more inclusive ecosystem, promote the sustainable development of green energy, and contribute to China's '30·60' decarbonization goal."

During the Expo, a strategic partnership framework agreement was signed by Siemens Energy and China Datang. As per the agreement, the two sides will expand and strengthen their partnership in gas turbines, green hydrogen energy, offshore grid access and energy services.

And according to a letter of intent for purchase signed by Siemens Energy and China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), both sides are cooperating in power transmission and distribution equipment, industrial water solution, compressor, turbine and service to help promote green transformation and high-quality development of China's oil and gas industry.

Through the Expo, a platform for global economic and trade exchanges and cooperation, China's "carbon peak and neutrality" targets has created new growth momentum for international trade and investment in the post-COVID-19 era. As an important platform bridging the huge demand of the Chinese market and the potential supply of countries around the world, the 5th CIIE plays an important role in this respect.
