On September 25, a delegation formed by experts from Pakistani agricultural universities, including Lahore University, Pakistan, University of Haripur and Sindh Agriculture University, arrived in Mianxian County in Shaanxi, China for a field trip.
The delegation was accompanied by representatives of Northwest A&F University to investigate agribusiness in the county, and Zhou Yunxiu, deputy county governor, gave the introduction of the development of local industries.
The delegation visited multiple local agricultural companies, such as Shaanxi Qiongxi Ecological Agriculture Company and Mianshuichun Agricultural Development Company, where they got an idea of the development of the county’s agricultural industry. They also visited the cigar experimental base, tea hill, and workshop of the companies to better understand their production scale and economic benefits as well as the management systems and technologies.
“The visit has given us an in-depth understanding of crop varieties renewal, input-output ratio of facilities and technology application and promotion. We will bring the experience that we learned here to Pakistan and have promotion and innovation according to the actual situation,” said one Pakistani expert. At the forum held after the visit, he expressed his expectation to further strengthen communication and exchange between the university and Mianxian County.
