1. It is crucial for grain to be stored in good places
 
As important facilities to store grains, grain depots should maintain safe, smart, green, clean, and beautiful. We need to modernize the construction and management of grain depots, and improve the storage of grains, so as to ensure  grain safety, and better meet  people's demand for high-quality and healthy food.
 
2. Be cautious about natural monopoly being used for arbitrary expansion
 
It is important to improve the institutional mechanism, strengthen and ameliorate the supervision of natural monopoly. In this way, the control of the public sector over the natural monopoly will be consolidated, and the sector of natural monopoly will better play the positive role in maintaining the smooth operation of the national economy. Meanwhile it will also inject vitality into the state-owned capital and increase its capacity to resist risks.
 
Policy
 
1. The National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration issued a notice on the establishment of the electricity price mechanism based on coal power capacity on November 10. According to the notice, the current single-part electricity price for coal power will be adjusted to a two-part price, which will be implemented from January 1, 2024.
 
2. The General Administration for Market Regulation and the General Administration of Customs recently issued a notice to adjust the requirements of China Compulsory Certification (CCC certification) for imported information technology equipment in the pilot areas (including Shanghai, Guangdong, Tianjin, Fujian, Beijing Pilot Free Trade Zone and Hainan Free Trade Port).
 
3. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Transport and six other departments announced on November 14 that 15 cities including Beijing and Shenzhen will be among the first batch of cities to fully use electric vehicles in public sector.
 
Data
 
1. The sixth China International Import Expo closed on November 10, with an annualized intentional turnover of  USD 78.41 billion, an increase of 6.7 percent over the last year’s expo, reaching a record high.
 
2. The latest data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology showed that as of the end of September, the cumulative installed capacity of new energy storage in China amounted to 21.23 million kilowatts, ranking among the highest in the world. The ecology of China's energy storage industry has basically been formed.
 
3. China (Xinjiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone Kashgar Area was established on November 11. The first 35 enterprises residing there cover the fields of trade and logistics, electronic information, new materials, automobile processing and so on,   with a capital of more than RMB 17.6 billion.
 
4. China Geographic Information Industry Development Report (2023) showed that by the end of 2022, there were 294 working civil remote sensing satellites in China, of which 189 were commercial remote sensing satellites, accounting for more than 60 percent. The quantity and quality of China's remote sensing satellites have reached the world's advanced level.
 
5. The latest data from the Maritime Bureau of the Ministry of Transport showed that as of October this year, there were 185,000 Chinese merchant ships registered in China.
 
6. The world's first 1.2T ultra-high-speed Internet main path connecting Beijing, Wuhan and Guangzhou was open on November 13, with its transmission efficiency 10 times more than that of the current 100G network.
 
7. Bozhong 19-6 Condensate Gas Field Phase I Development Project, the first 100-billion-square-meter gas field in China's Bohai Sea, commenced production on November 14, marking a new stage of China's development of offshore deep oil and gas reservoirs.
 
8. The Yuejin 3-3XC well of Shendi-1 project of SINOPEC achieved a daily crude production of 200 metric tons and natural gas of 50,000 cubic meters, with a depth of 9,432 meters, breaking two records in Asia.
 
9. According to Ministry of Commerce, China's total import and export with APEC members reached USD 3.739 trillion in 2022, accounting for 59.7 percent of China's total import and export value.
 
10. According to Ministry of Commerce, from January to September this year, China's trade volume of digitally deliverable services amounted to around RMB 2.026 trillion, up 8.6 percent year on year, accounting for 42 percent of the total trade in services. It showed China's advantage in the scale of digital trade, with cross-border e-commerce retail exports ranking the first in the world.
