BEIJING, Jan. 24 (China Economic Net) – Imagine walking on a scorching summer day, with temperatures soaring above 40 degrees Celsius, and the sun beating down mercilessly. A lightweight, chip-powered vest could be your saviour; with a simple press of a button, the device kicks into action and brings down the temperature from over 40 degrees Celsius to around 25 degrees Celsius within 10 seconds.

 

This body-temperature-regulating wearable smart device is what DeepNatures, an AI startup, showcases at the final of the Information Technology Domain 7th Zhongguancun International Advanced Technology Competition (North America Region) held in Beijing on 22nd January.

 

Themed “Pioneering New Frontiers, Cultivating New Drivers of Growth,” this year's Zhongguancun tech competition saw participation of over 3,000 teams from 74 countries, with 40% of projects coming from overseas. 

 

In the final competition of the IT domain (North America region), a total of ten finalists present innovations like high-precision piezoelectric micro-motors, 4C standard laser radars, AI-assisted surgical platforms, and integrated optical detection systems, offering a glimpse into the future of technology.

 

In an interview with China Economic Net (CEN), Albert Xu, CEO of DeepNatures explained that the smart vest is designed to regulate body temperature in “extreme hot or cold temperatures”.

 

The device utilises a unique heat exchange system based on electronic photon transitions. “It harnesses a process where electrons absorb heat during their transition between low-energy states, offering an efficient and convenient cooling effect,” revealed Xu.

 

“We’re looking to use this competition as a springboard for new market collaborations and to gear up for upcoming funding rounds,” Xu told CEN, “We're also eager to apply insights from experts in material science in this competition to enhance our product.”

 

Central to the Zhongguancun Forum, the competition aims to showcase cutting-edge technologies and act as a key driver in selecting and nurturing the next generation of technology enterprises.

 

Organised by the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission and the Zhongguancun Technology Park Administration Committee, the event is co-hosted by the Zhongguancun High-Tech Industry Promotion Centre, the Zhongguancun Frontier Technology and Industry Service Alliance, Zhongguancun InnoWay, and the Zhongguancun Cooperation Open Innovation Association.
