BEIJING, Mar. 27 (China Economic Net) – “For this expo, our N-type module solution meets the needs of customers in all scenarios, from ground power stations, industrial and commercial distribution power stations to household rooftops power stations, among which the power of large-type modules suitable for large-scale ground power stations has been upgraded to 720W, with an efficiency of 23.2%, can minimize the LCOE,” a staff at global leading solar provider, Trinasolar, told the China Economic Net, at the ongoing Clean Energy Expo China 2024 (CEEC2024).

“Since 2023, the Belt and Road joint construction of new energy project cooperation has achieved further high-quality development, with Chinese companies have achieved 227 signed projects with a total contract value of USD 26.47 billion, a year-on-year increase of 37%, accounting for 51.5% of the total amount of all contracted projects in the power industry, ” Guo Kuilong, Secretary-General of the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products, introduced at the opening ceremony of CEEC 2024.

The go global of photovoltaic companies has always been a top priority in China’s new energy industry. Talking with the reporter, a technician from Trinasolar introduced the company’s global layout in detail, especially in the Middle East. “Our Vertex series modules cover the Middle East market represented by the United Arab Emirates. The Al Dhafra power station in Abu Dhabi, one of the world’s largest single photovoltaic power stations, uses 800MW Vertex series modules. It is estimated that after the project is completed and put into operation, the power generation will be able to meet the electricity needs of approximately 160,000 UAE households, as well as reduce more than 2.4 million tons of carbon emissions per year.”

Besides UAE, the solar provider also supplied 45.5MW N-type 700W series modules to the 3A seawater desalination PV power station project in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. By now, the power generated became an indispensable part of the total energy supply of the seawater desalination plant, meeting 20% of the daily energy consumption of the plant and is expected to reduce 60,000 tons of carbon emissions every year.

As early as October 2023, Trinasolar has signed an MoU with the UAE’s AD Ports and China-based investment firm Jiangsu Provincial Overseas Cooperation and Investment (JOCIC) to build a large-scale PV manufacturing base in the Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (Kezad). The facility-which will be built in three phases -will have an annual production capacity of approximately 50k tons of high-purity polysilicon, 30 GWs of crystalline silicon wafers, and 5 GWs of PV modules.

Not long ago, the UAE pledged to achieve net-zero emissions across the country by 2050, with triple its renewable energy supply over the next seven years and invest up to USD 54 billion to meet its growing energy needs, which happened to coincide with China’s dual carbon goals of peaking carbon emissions by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2060. “Trinasolar will fully promote the development and progress of countries and regions on jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative in green infrastructure, green energy, green transportation and other fields,” the staff emphasized.
